Frequently asked questions
What counts as one check?
One POST to /v1/observe with a URL is one check, regardless of whether the content changed or not.
When can I buy packs?
Botrite Observe is in founders beta. Paid packs open when our determinism gate is verified in production. Click Notify me at launch on any tier card and we’ll email you the day we flip the switch.
What is the signed observation receipt?
An Ed25519-signed JSON token that records: the URL, request timestamp, content hash, and whether content changed relative to the previous observation. It is tamper-evident and independently verifiable against our public key. It is a record of our observation — not a legal certification, notarization, or guarantee of the content's accuracy or authenticity.
Do check packs expire?
Purchased check packs are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The free daily tier resets every 24 hours and does not expire.
Can I check any URL?
Any publicly accessible URL. We do not support URLs requiring authentication (login-gated pages), URLs that redirect to authentication challenges, or URLs that violate our Acceptable Use Policy. See Terms of Service for details.
What data do you store?
We store content hashes, timestamps, and observation metadata. We do not permanently store the raw HTML or page content of URLs you check. See our Privacy Policy.
Do you offer refunds?
Check pack purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you have a billing issue, contact [email protected].
